Product Description
PIONEER® HGM® Basalt is made from 100% basalt mineral, specifically designed as a monofilament fiber for asphalt reinforcement. PIONEER® HGM® Basalt is made from basalt minerals melted at 1500°C and then spun into continuous fibers that are cut into short lengths. It is an environmentally friendly asphalt reinforcement material that improves the adhesion, high temperature stability and fatigue life of asphalt pavements. It also improves low temperature crack resistance and helps prevent reflective cracking. This makes it an effective solution for addressing asphalt pavement durability issues and premature damage, ultimately extending the service life of asphalt surfaces.

Uses
PIONEER® HGM® Basalt is used in the intermediate and surface layers of asphalt pavements to improve overall performance, extend pavement life, and reduce long-term maintenance costs. Applications for PIONEER® HGM® Basalt include:

Addition Rates
The application of PIONEER® HGM® Basalt in asphalt pavements is based on traffic volume. For highways, major roads, urban expressways, and bridge decks, the recommended dosage is 1kg per ton of asphalt mix.

Mixing Process: The mixing process for asphalt mixes with PIONEER® HGM®Basalt is essentially the same as for those without it.

Construction Procedure: The construction procedures for asphalt mixes with PIONEER® HGM® Basalt are identical to those without it.

Compaction: Asphalt mixes with PIONEER® HGM® Basalt require 3-4 additional passes during compaction to achieve a density of 98% or more.
