What is PIONEER® HPM® FR Fire-Resistant Fiber?

PIONEER® HPM® FR is a high-performance fire-resistant polypropylene fiber engineered to prevent explosive spalling when concrete is exposed to fire. As temperatures rise, the hollow fibers melt and create micro-channels that relieve trapped vapor pressure. This reduces the risk of sudden concrete failure and increases structural fire endurance.

How to Use Fire-Resistant Polypropylene Fiber in Concrete

Recommended usage guidelines:

  1. Dosage: 0.6–1.2 kg/m³ (typical: 0.9 kg/m³)

  2. Fiber Length:

    • 6 mm → thin overlays, precast

    • 12 mm → general concrete

    • 18 mm → tunnel linings

  3. Mixing: Add fibers during dry mixing with aggregates.

  4. Compatibility: Works with standard, HPC, and UHPC mixes.
